flight | chromatic splitting injunction
(eeaoa039) cassette

Matt Shoemaker has returned from the outer realms with a future classic. This 90-minute cassette features two side-long tracks (45 minutes apiece), each of which is totally unlike anything he has previously released. These two disorientingly alien pieces are completely different from one another stylistically, but they absolutely (inexplicably) belong together.

Flight is a kind of bizarre minimal techno from outer space, based entirely on drum machine improvisations; a Cronenbergian sci-fi fever dream. Chromatic Splitting Injunction, on the other hand, is pure plunderphonic insanity, complete with dazzling pause-edits and mind-bending, disturbing juxtapositions.

Matt Shoemaker's genius is still under-acknowledged, despite being active in the world of sound art for something like twenty years now. This tape shows yet another aspect (or two) of his extraordinarily highly evolved audio persona.

Flight | Chromatic Splitting Injunction has been issued as a 90-minute cassette housed in a bespoke plastic package, entirely laser-etched and limited to 40 numbered copies. Free high-quality download of the entire album is included with purchase.
